We can't go a summer without making this strawberry pie!
Ingredients: 1 pie shell (homemade or store-bought) pre-baked 1/2 cup water 1/3 cup cornstarch 4 cups crushed strawberries (about 2 pounds) 1/2 cup sugar Pinch of salt
Directions: 1. In a small bowl whisk together water and cornstarch to form a slurry. 2. Pour slurry into a saucepan and add the strawberries, sugar and salt. 3. Heat mixture over medium heat, stirring often. 4. Bring mixture to a boil and continuously stir for about a minute or two more. The mixture should be thick and sputtering. 5. Pour the filling into your prepared pie shell and allow to cool to room temperature. 6. Chill pie in the fridge for a couple hours.
